We had the good fortune of connecting with Christie Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
"Hi Christie, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking"
"I consider myself a calculated risk taker. I played three collegiate sports- basketball, softball and golf. I became an LPGA golf professional and had a very successful 20 year career. It never seemed like I was taking risks because I believed in myself."

"In life, most people are lucky to have one relevant gift to share with the world. Whether you’re an artist, an engineer, a teacher, a medical professional, or whatever your specialty, you are blessed to have those skills, and the world is better off from experiencing them. "The famous Robert Frost poem “The Road Not Taken” begins with the lines, “Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, / And sorry I could not travel both.” The poem sets up a dichotomy that many believe to be true — if I travel down this road, it is the only way for me."

"California based artist Christie Smith has found her niche in a somewhat unusual creative specialty: resin. The two-part component which hardens into a solid plastic, giving a glossy, clear finish, has been the stand-out quality that really sets her art apart, giving pieces an alluring intensity and dramatic depth."

"Art comes to us in all shapes and sizes, colors and textures. Depending on the artist, the piece you receive will be a unique representation of the work they do, their feelings, their emotions, and their beliefs. That is why no artist is like the other. However, beautiful art pieces can be created as a result of artistic collaborations. This is how Christie Smith’s newest collection Satisfaction came to life."

"For so many–myself included–art is a form of expression that allows us to form connections with others. During the unprecedented times in which the COVID-19 pandemic kept us in lockdown, art became one of the best tools to remain in contact with other individuals, without breaking the social distance guidelines put in place. Art presented itself, yet again, as the unbreakable string that keeps our society together through hardship."

"The process of creating commissioned art is a beautiful way for artists and patrons to forge a special bond. It’s an opportunity for the artist to express their creative talents while also personalizing the piece for a particular individual. It’s a unique way for many artists to connect with their clients."

“Love Out Loud! I think that with everything that is going on we are all focused on fear and anxieties. Loving out loud raises your vibration. You are opening up your heart. You are not fearful about the world or what that means. You are living in the present. You are not holding back."
