Memorial Resin Art

Honoring a Loved One Through Custom Design

There are some moments in life that words can’t quite hold. The loss of someone you love is one of them. But art, especially art created with intention, has a way of making space for memory, emotion, and presence.

Which is why memorial resin art has become some of the most sacred work Christie Smith creates.

"I receive the ashes of a loved one and carefully infuse them into resin with great reverence. I'm able to create a piece that feels alive and full of memory and meaning."

These pieces are not mass-produced or templated. Each one is a one-of-a-kind work of art created from epoxy resin, layered on hand-built wooden panels, and customized with color palettes, natural textures, and a small amount of ashes. Some clients also choose to include sand from a meaningful place or other symbolic elements.

A Process Built on Care

The process of creating memorial resin art begins with a conversation. Christie works one-on-one with each client to understand the story, space, and energy they want the piece to hold.

"You don’t need to know exactly what you want. I’ll guide you through everything including, colors, sizing, and the emotional tone. I want this to feel comforting and clear from the very beginning."

Once the vision is aligned, Christie sends clear, respectful instructions for securely mailing a small amount of ashes (about one tablespoon). Any unused ashes are returned with the finished piece.

A Tribute That Lives On

Memorial commissions can be as intimate or as expansive as you want—from small keepsake pieces to large-scale wall art. Each one is designed to fit your space and reflect the person or pet being honored.

The final artwork typically takes 4–8 weeks from the time the ashes are received. Christie works with clients across the U.S. and internationally. Each piece is packaged with care, insured, and shipped directly to you.

A Unique, Personal Gift

Many clients commission these pieces for themselves, while others gift them to family members or friends who are grieving. In these cases, Christie can provide a beautifully written card that allows the recipient to collaborate with her when they’re ready.

Every memorial commission is a reflection of that philosophy. A deeply personal way to honor a pet or a loved one’s presence and to keep a piece of them close.
