How to Commission Custom Resin Art
Everything You Need to Know
There’s something undeniably powerful about standing in front of a piece of art that was made just for you. Art that feels like an extension of your energy, your story, and your home.
As a pioneer in the resin art space, Christie is known for her nature and ocean-inspired creations that shimmer with movement, texture and depth. She isn’t just inspired by nature when she creates – she’s inspired by her clients and the movement and vision they have for their homes and spaces.
Discerning collectors around the world turn to Christie for custom pieces that are every bit as unique as the lives they live and the spaces they want to fill.
Each piece is created on custom-cut wooden panels and available in sizes that can span entire walls. From intimate hallway pieces to seven-foot focal points, Christie’s art is made to complement the space it’s created for.
Here’s everything you need to know if you're thinking of commissioning your own custom resin artwork.
Why Choose Custom Resin Art?
Resin offers a depth and fluidity that captures both emotion and motion. Every piece is unique , one-of-a-kind and able to scale no matter the size of the art needed.
Whether you want a bold centerpiece, a calming coastal moment, or a sacred memorial, resin offers the versatility to tell your story in color, movement and texture.
Step One: Reach Out to Christie
Christie’s custom artwork process is built on collaboration, clarity, and connection. You’ll never be left guessing and will feel supported, and confident every step of the way.
Step Two: Get Clarity on Your Space
Every custom piece starts with a conversation. Christie takes time to understand your vision, your style, and most importantly, where the piece will live in your home.
The process starts with a conversation about your space, what you want to feel when you look at the piece, and how you want it to live in your home. Some clients come with specific ideas. Others come with a blank slate.
Christie will work closely with you and your interior designer if you are working with an expert to design a room. Colors, textures, and size of your room and the wall where you plan to hang your art are all important pieces of the initial process.
Step Three: Shape the Vision
Once you’ve talked through the feeling, it’s time to dial in the details.
Size & Space: “The worst thing is when a piece ends up too small or too big for its space,” Christie says. “That’s why I work closely with each client upfront. We measure walls, look at photos, and I recommend exact dimensions that will complement the room.” Custom wood panels are fabricated as needed.
Color & Mood: Clients are invited to share photos of their home so Christie can get a sense of their style and palette. “Some people know exactly what colors and feelings they want to evoke. Others have no idea. Either way, I help refine it. If they want soft, neutral ocean tones, I can do that. If they want bold movement, I love creating that energy, too.”
Materials: Christie works with professional-grade epoxy resin and hand-poured layers that often include real sand, metallic pigments, and natural textures. The result is a glossy, dimensional work of ocean-themed wall art that feels both organic and elevated.
Step Four: Trust the Process
Once the design is confirmed, Christie creates a test panel. “I always do a test piece to make sure we’re aligned,” she says. “And then I practice the final pour in my mind over and over. That’s the athlete in me.”
Resin is a living medium. It requires movement, speed, and precision. “I don’t get a second shot. But by the time I pour, I’m ready. I don’t hesitate. I trust what the piece needs to become.”
Step Five: Watch It Come to Life
From there, Christie brings your vision to life with precision and artistry. Using premium resin, hand-selected pigments, and natural materials, she creates a unique piece of artwork that reflects the essence of your story and the energy of your space. Every layer is poured with care, intention, and technical excellence.
The entire process is thoughtfully documented from beginning to end with a video recording of the artwork being created, capturing each layer, movement, and moment of transformation.
Throughout the journey, you’ll receive curated updates as your piece evolves and when it arrives, it won’t just meet your expectations. It will exceed them.
Each piece takes 4 to 8 weeks to complete and is delivered with care, packaged and insured. White-glove delivery is available.
The Value of One-of-a-Kind
Custom commissions begin at $10,000, with pricing based on size, detail, and material complexity. But for Christie, the value is in the meaning.
“Every piece I create is truly one-of-a-kind,” she says. “Even if I wanted to recreate it, I couldn’t. That’s the magic of resin.”
More Than Art
“For me, art isn’t about perfection,” Christie says. “Because nothing in life is really perfect. It’s about feeling, letting go, trusting the process, and capturing the beauty of the unknown—just like nature does every day.”
Whether it’s a commissioned centerpiece, a personal statement, or a sacred memorial infused with ashes, each piece is a collaboration, a reflection of you, made to last.
